! THIS TEMPORARY EXPO HAS ALREADY ENDED !

"Capturing over a hundred years in one visual project? Haughty and ambitious, a bit like the American dream: the duty to pursue success. But at what cost? We see anecdotal stories from those hundred years of visual flood: about humans, animals and the environment."

Artist Serge Moreel painted a picture of the American 20th century through a number of colourful and expressive paintings. Special attention was given to the role of the Americans during World War I and the consequences of this war for the United States.

He painted a number of anecdotal scenes, behind which there is a larger story. The works are full of symbolism and provide a distinctive take on the pursuit of The American Dream. Waregem, WWI and the horse took a prominent role in this exceptional exhibition, which therefore fitted perfectly within the contours of the visitor centre HIPPO.WAR.
